International festival of the military brass bands – it is meeting of the best military
musicians from the different countries of the world, which present their music and show
their art, devoting it to our city. Lots of Russian and foreign mass media get the right of
lightening this event.
The main peculiarity of the festival is the beauty and the dignity
of the show, and also the original repertoire.
XIII INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF MILITARY BRASS BANDS will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia, from June, 10 to June, 15th 2008.
One of the brightest events on an international scale – the Festival of Military brass bands annually takes place In Saint-Petersburg - the «North Capital of Russia». Since 2008 it has been decided to conduct the Festival within the framework of celebration of the Day of Russia.
This Festival, accompanied by delightful concerts on open air courts of historical center of the city, grandiose marsh-parade on the Nevsky prospect and final enchanting gala-concerts in concert halls of Saint Petersburg, is an unforgettable musical holiday for townspeople and city guests. This unique musical show, which gathers the representatives of many countries on one stage, the magnificent technique and masterly of musicians create the special atmosphere of holiday for townspeople and guests of the city. The Festival attracts attention of different groups of population and is conductive to education of patriotic senses and respect to one of the major State social institutes - Military powers.
The Festival of Military brass bands in Saint-Petersburg takes part by the official support of Administration and Government of the city, and also of Command of the Leningrad military district.
In the year of St.-Petersburg 300-th anniversary celebration, the Festival has been recognized as "the Best international project of the year». It has also been estimated by leading Russian and international mass-media as one of the most favorite and visited events in the city.
In 2008 the XIII International Festival of Military brass bands takes place. Brass bands from Turkey, Montenegro, France, Kazakhstan, Armenia, the republic of South Africa, China, Lithuania, and also military brass bands of the Russian Federation, among which brass bands of the Leningrad military district and Moscow orchestral service, and also a model orchestra of the Russian Emergency Ministry will participate in this Festival.
During several years the brass bands from Austria, England, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Finland, Switzerland, Moldova, Ukraine and other countries took part in the Festivals of Military brass bands. Along with foreign brass bands the leading military brass bands of Moscow and St.-Petersburg participated in the Festival. This Festival is a musical embodiment of the spirit of St.-Petersburg- one of the most beautiful and historical cities in Russia.
